The wait is almost over. The Wall-E DVD comes out on November 17, my friends. There is now a sneak preview of one of the bonus features on the DVD. It’s a short film called BURN-E. You might remember him working outside the Axiom when WALL-E and EVE jetted back inside. Now we are getting his story. Is there anything better then Wall-E bonus material? I doubt it.

When you think about what a limited edition Wall-E Roomba should be, you probably picture a Roomba with those cute Wall-E eyes attached, Wall-E’s squar-ish body. Maybe add some voice effects. How awesome would it be to have a Wall-E Roomba? Count me in.
Turns out, not very awesome at all. It’s being sold in Japan and it amounts to no more then a crappy sticker attached on top. For the price of $850. That’s $550 more then what a standard 530 costs here in the U.S. That’s just lame.

Check out the pic above. It’s like when C-3PO got trashed in Cloud City. But it had to be done. No one wants the cheap version of Wall-E when they can have the Ultimate Wall-E. But it’s expensive, so this is the alternative. Trossen Robotics forum member DJ Sures added a bunch of extra servos and a new cpu with 1,000 new lines of code. Chaep Wall-E now has the ability to tilt his head and wave his arms and also autonomously navigate. Video below.

Sadly, this beauty is one of a kind. And it has an owner, Pixar creative chief John Lasseter. It was created especially for him by English sculptors and CNC/rapid-prototyping masters Morpheus. And yes it is amazingly detailed. So much so that I wet my pants a little and made a strange geek noise.

Bazmarc from the Trossen Robotics Community Forums has built a Lego Wall-E that kills all others dead. It’s the Lego NXT Autonomous Wall-E Robot! Of course it looks like Wall-E, but also has some impressive features. It’s a TRC Project Contest entry and though they haven’t even announced the contest yet, I can’t imagine anything else beating this little guy.
Technical specs: Technical specs: 1 Mindstorms NXT with rechargable pack, 3 Lego NXT Servo Motors, 4 Lego PowerFonctions motors, 2 PF IR receiver, 1 UltraSonic sensor, 1 Sound sensor, 1 InfraRed link sensor, (HiTechnic), 1 NXTservo module and 1 mini RC servo, (Mindsensors), 10 AA batteries, Lego parts mainly from the Bulldozer set #8275 and other parts from various technic sets.
Check out a short video after the jump.

Wall-E is the cutest robot of all time. Just look at the box office numbers if you don’t believe me. The Ultimate Wall-E remote control robot is now available for pre-order. Wall-E can chat with you, dance, play music, even sense / avoid obstacles. He won’t get you a date, but that’s life. They don’t expect to ship him until October 16th, so you may be lonely for awhile.

NXT Mindstorms hacker, BlueToothWiki loves Wall-E and he also loves to have a robot clean up after himself. Who doesn’t? Based on a leaked picture alone, the bot won one of the NXTLog building challenges last year and was made entirely out of one NXT retail kit and one 2007 TECHNIC Bulldozer kit. Yes, it actually works and with an ultrasonic sensor it will scoop up trash and clean up. Just don’t leave him alone forever. Video below.

With the infrared controller, U-Command Wall-E comes to life with animated movements, voice, sound, and light effects as you maneuver him forward, turn in reverse–or make him dance. Program options enable over 1,000 action combos. What’s cuter then Wall-E?

Here’s a great way to spruce up your old Gamecube. Convert it into a WALL-E case mod. The modder did a pretty good job. The next logical step is to make Eve out of your Wii.
