Remember the Bar2-D2 Beer Serving Droid? He’s back. This time on video. As you can see all of the part goers worship the droid. He’s the life of the party and his lights make him ideal for raves and such. You gotta love a beer droid.
I’m sure many of us have wondered…What if Wall-E were real?
Anthony Meadows wonders about that too. He created Wall-E: Down to Earth, which is beautifully shot using a JVC GZ-HD3 with music from the soundtrack and Thomas Newman.
It’s well worth checking out. Part 2 is above. Part 1 here.
Artist Dave the Chimp’s second video for electro pop superstars Robots In Disguise sees the girls settling in for an evening on the couch watching porn on VHS. This isn’t new, by any means, but someone tipped me off to this video because it features some fairly interesting and potentially NSFW scenes of robots doing the nasty.
If you consider telescoping robo-wangs, robo-blow jobs, and even a robo money shot NSFW.
I have no idea what this is or how to make sense of it, but this video series follows the adventures of a pair of robot Coca-Cola vending machines. It isn’t new, but it’s fairly entertaining as an alternative to doing hardcore drugs. Kinda leaves you feeling wtf. You can click on the user and find the entire series.
Created by Nick Greenlee, this short Visual Effects piece shows us the real war that’s waged with Mac vs PC. Robots beating the crap out of each other. Great little video.
Roboware’s family-friendly, open-source E3 robot has been around for a while now, but we spotted this video of him in action. He’s called E3 because of his customizable emotional, entertainment and educational functions.
Roboware’s bot is designed to be a valued member of the family. One equipped with WiFi, IR rangers, an LCD chest, a web-cam in its head, and a microSD slot on its back. He has 17 joints and three multi-directional wheels, making him pretty darn mobile. Video below. Read the rest of this entry »
Underwire has published an interesting video on The Sex Life of Robots, which shows animated bots doing the nasty in many intriguing ways. The bots are made out of modified Barbie dolls and G.I. Joes.
The movie is awesome, weird, sexy and disturbing. It was made by Michael Sullivan, using stop-motion animation and digital photography.
ABB robots are just plain crazy and make lame videos. As evidenced by these. In the first video, the folks at ABB are showing off how flexible and powerful the new line of IRB 4600 industrial robots are. How do they do this? By pitting it against a professional Brazilian fighter named Edison. The results are insanely lame and weird.
The next video is a dance piece choreographed for an ABB robot to do a duet with a human dancer. It premiered in Finland last May, but like the first video, it’s a whole lotta nothin layered with some bizarre.
The Bacarobo competition pits six robots against one another as long as they meet a few basic requirements: They have to be mechanical, funny, and completely useless to society. So…well, Stupid.
The 10-minute video above is from the 2008 championships. It’s a long video, but there are some very great moments throughout. I won’t spoil it for ya.
