Great way to add some geek chic to your home. It’s a clock, it’s a robot. Need I say more? These guys are cute as hell and retro, as well as having poseable arms and legs. Available in two colors. $35.99.
Check out this set of retro Christmas ornaments. They are modeled after vintage toy robots.
If you’re like me, you already have a bunch of robot ornaments on the tree. Why not add a few more? Eventually you’ll have enough for a separate robot tree.
At last, a robot kit for these tough economic times. Screw recycling. Just make robots out of your used soda cans. The Tin Can Robot kit can turn any old 12 ounce beverage can into an adorable robot. Turn that 6 pack of Dr. Pepper into an army.
The Eric Joyner Artificial Enlightenment exhibit was featured at the Corey Helford Gallery in Culver City, CA, on September 6, 2008. Joyner’s Artificial Enlightenment paintings mostly focus on the vintage toy bots we all know and love, all juxtaposed into chaos, several feature a donut oddly enough. Joyner’s paintings have robots doing motorcycle stunts, making donuts, driving trains, and more.
Do yourself a favor and check out his website. I’m thinking of contacting him for a few pieces to hang on the Botropolis office walls, which have huge holes from robot attacks.
Check out this cool robot cake from debbiedoescakes’ flickr pool. It looks like it could get up and walk. It’s modeled after a vintage style Japan space robot tin toy, complete with wind-up key. But how can one eat something this beautiful?
As a collector of vintage toy robots I’m always on the lookout for cool new(Or old) stuff. Over at Darkroastedblend, they recently showcased a bunch of sweet vintage robots. These guys are all from those beautiful heady days before robots in real life started gaining the abilities needed to kill and maim. These babies are all treasured by human collectors and they are good to have around because in the future when a robot storms your house, you will be spared thanks to robo-worship.
