There’s Nothing Wrong With Loving This Tie

December 3rd, 2008 by Matthew Bilyeu

Sometimes you want to have an article of clothing that lets people know that you’re fly. A piece of garb that tells folks, “I like Built to Spill, Emek, robots, and bicycles.” Enter this amazing tie.
Emek is an artist/graphic designer/illustrator who has made posters for dozens of bands. His works are shown in galleries all over America and Europe, and some of his posters sell for over $2000 on ebay.
The image tiled on the tie is from Emek’s 2003 gig poster for the band Built to Spill. It’ll set you back $40, but would also make a sick holiday present for your robot-loving relatives. Also, I’m very glad this didn’t happen.
But this isn’t Emek’s only robot art, no no no. You can see some of his robot art at his website.

DeepNote Guitar Hero Bot Rocks You

July 14th, 2008 by Conner Flynn

Mechanized Rock’s Guitar Hero Bot is pretty awesome. It’s dubbed DeepNote and it actually watches the on-screen action with “eyes” that that analyze notes, which the bot then plays in real-time, rocking your world. With photodiodes aimed at the screen, it picks up changes in light within eight nanoseconds, then converts that info to “rock your fuckin socks off” to qoute Tenacious D.
