Robot Arm Takes On A Kitten
February 11th, 2010

If bots want to take over the world, they are going to have to first conquer us. Then our cats. This video shows why. Some guy decided to pit his robot arm against his girlfriend’s cat. The cat wins. Good cat.

Cat Saved By Artificial Robo-Knee
January 25th, 2010

What if this was your cute and fluffy kitty who had to get knee surgery on its back-left leg because it was hit by a car? It’s still cute, but on its mid section, and back leg isn’t so fluffy anymore. They had to shave Missy for the surgery.

Missy, the semi-robotic cat, is currently holding a 3-inch stainless steel joint where her old knee used to be. It is also separated into 3 parts; 2 “bones” connected where the hinge of the knee should be and 1 big screw to hold it together.Ingenious in its design, the new metal joint was designed by Dr Fitzpatrick, Professor Gordon Blunn and Mr Jay Meswania at OrthoFitz Implants for the kitty. The joint looks like it hurts, but I’m sure the cat is happy to have it. If it didn’t have it, it would most likely be on the side of the road or in a wild animal’s stomach.

Nyago: The Rolling Cat
January 22nd, 2010

Do you have a cat lover in your life? Have a daughter or son who wishes their cats could do tricks? Or even if you have a dog who needs a new chew toy, you should get TakaraTomy’s rolling cat, Nyago! Nyago has the cuteness of any cat, but with a trick you wish your cat could do. What would that be, the power and skill to roll around on the floor, just roll and roll, like it is trying to scratch the flees out.

If you clap loud enough, the cat will start rolling. The more you clap, the more it will roll. That’s basically it. Based on the video below, the cat rolls its body around while staying in its path by adjusting the tail to either side of the body. Since the bodies are limp, I personally think that after your kid gets bored with it, its best use is as a Swiffer Duster. Once you see the video, you’ll know what i’m talking about. For your new, fluffy, robotic cat, it will cost you $79. You’ll be happy past your own beliefs of this purchase. Shipped straight from Japan.

Sega’s Updated RoboCat
January 15th, 2009

Sega isn’t new to the robot pet market. They have had dogs and cats for awhile now. The cat, being super cute, has now received an upgrade called the Dream Cat Venus.

Look for it to do what a cat does. Sleeping, purring when you touch it. That sort of thing. What did you expect from a robocat? It will also meow when it wants your attention and yelp if you pull its tail. See, just like a real cat.

Dream Cat Venus will go on sale in July for around $150.
