These USB drives are cute and come in a variety of colors including white, black, yellow, pink, blue and red. Even better, they feature unique personalities. Available in just a 2GB option, they’re pretty pricey at the equivalent of $63. Yeah, you read that right. I guess you really  have to pay to let these robot drives into your life.

Transformer USB Hub Turns Into A Netbook
We’ve seen several USB transformers lately. There must be a movie coming out or something. There’s the transforming mouse, the Ravage USB drive, and now we have this $42 import that features a cassette deck, similar to Soundwave.

This guy can transform into a netbook. And whether you dig “Qosmio” netbooks or not, it’s a cool 4-port USB hub. So you can now have a small army of USB transformers.

Something tells me we won’t be seeing this “Qosmio” guy in the new movie.

Now where’s the rest of them? I want Optimus Prime.

USB Dancing Robot
What if I told you that you could have your own 7 inch tall dancing robot slave for the price of $25 and a spare USB port? He will detect whatever tune you are playing and start dancing, with flashing LEDs to the beat, while you sit there shouting “dance you robot bastard, dance!”.

It will feel good for a human to be in charge. For a little while at least.

Lego R2-D2 USB Flash Drive
December 1st, 2008

Our favorite droid gets a gadget makeover again. Big surprise. When is he ever going to get some respect? If he isn’t pulling aquarium duty, he’s showing up as cufflinks.

Well, now someone’s taken a Lego R2 and made him into a USB drive. Which is neat and all, but he still ain’t gettin no respect. Because when you plug the little guy into your usb port, he just looks like he got shot out of a cannon and got stuck in your laptop and should be flailing his legs. Such is the life of an overly merchandised droid. 4GB for $49.95.

August 17th, 2008

A Taiwanese company known as MingJong has released some colorful robotic UVC compliant USB 2.0 webcams called ‘M6637U’ that sport 1.3-megapixels.

These little guys have the right idea. If you want to take over the world, you have to appeal to those lovers of cute and colorful desk accessories. Put a bunch together and they are clearly interacting, comparing notes for our eventual assimilation. Then when a human comes back into the room they all freeze. There’s not a whole lot of info on these guys, but be weary. Never turn your back on one.
