At first glance, this robot appears to be a robot that’s capable of just repeating programmed information, but after just a few minutes with the robot, you can notice that it isn’t just any robot.
Saitama University has developed this Museum Guide Robot to determine how much the observer likes the painting. The robot is able to do so by detecting facial movements with a Laser Range Finding Sensor and a 360 degree camera. It is also able to comprehend how well the observer understands the robots explanation of the piece. As a straight forward example, the video above shows how well the communication is between the robot and the listener.
