You know that the future is here when you see robots dancing in space. This video was taken aboard the ISS and shows three spherical robots doing formation flying or dancing in zero-g. The video is sped up for effect. They maneuver using compressed carbon dioxide.
These guys are part of MIT’s SPHERES project. (Synchronized Position Hold, Engage, Reorient Experimental Satellites) Pretty cool stuff. If they can get satellites to cooperate and work together it’s cheaper for everyone. That’s one of the goals here.
