A Japanese electronics company has unveiled a 13ft super-robot which can be controlled by an iPhone. Dream come true? Well, sure. If you can afford one and if you are on the inside piloting it. Otherwise it will be a very bad day. This bot is made by Suidobashi Heavy Industry in Tokyo.
Kuratas is outfitted with a gatling gun capable of shooting 6,000 BB bullets a just one minute. Get this. They fire when the pilot smiles. How awesome is that? It can be controlled either through the one-man(or woman) cockpit or from the outside using any smartphone connected to the 3G network.
This beast will go on sale for £900,000 and has about 30 hydraulic joints which the pilot moves using motion control. These bots will be made to order, so you can choose from 16 colors, including black and pink. You need a cup holder of course and that will set you back an extra £60. Gotta have that coffee while firing away.
The robot was showcased at the Wonder Festival in Chiba, suburban Tokyo earlier today.
