EARL stands for Enhanced Automated Robotic Launcher. In the video clip, EARL takes on PGA bowler Chris Barnes. The robot does pretty good for the most part, but it can’t make tiny corrections like a human can and that’s its downfall.

Barnes manages to beat EARL by a score of 259 to 209, but that’s better than most of us can do. In a few years it will probably be unbeatable.
