If you read Botropolis then you have probably given this question some thought already. If you could have a personal robot that only did one thing, what would it be? That’s what Mike Treder asked the readers of his blog, and the top answers show what we really want from personal robots.

Unsurprisingly, (To us at least) the top two uses that people want out of a Personal Robot are housework and sex.

So we are apparently looking for the modern version of the 1950’s housewife. Maybe the results were skewed by the available choices or maybe the poll was answered by mostly men. But we doubt it.

The human race has always been largely about humping and cleaning up after ourselves. The rest is just filler.
