Boston Dynamics’ BigDog may be the top-dog in robotics, but he now has some competition thanks to two quadruped robots from South Korea. Both KITECH and POSTECH have quadruped robots in development for the South Korean defense industry, but they have a way to go before it turns into a dog fight dog world.

POSTECH’s pQ1 (PIRO Quadruped Version 1) is the smaller one at only 55cm (21″) tall. KITECH’s larger quadruped seems better, but the balance needs work.

Future wars may yet consist of releasing the hounds.
