Self-Configurable Robotic Wall Reacts To Movement
November 10th, 2009

The AWE, Animated Workplace Environment, is designed to make a single area useful for a variety of things. Think of it as shape-shifting furniture that moves according to your needs, replacing several pieces with one large piece. The robotic wall features eight degrees of freedom, a touchscreen display and electric motors for power.

It lets users select six different configurations by gesturing to the wall’s motion sensors. The wall reacts to movement, so if you stand to walk out, the wall will automatically react to make way.
