Robot Stars in Midsummer Night’s Dream
November 23rd, 2009

Man, lately robots are really taking a lot of acting jobs. Whether it’s Snow White or Wakamaru doing his thing, robots have their sights set on acting.

Most recently, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, was performed featuring, for the first time on stage, an AirRobot who played a woodland fairy. The production was a collaboration between Texas A&M University’s computer science, electrical engineering and performance studies departments. The robot was designed for surveillance, but it’s love of the theater has apparently taken hold. AirRobot was also joined by a squadron of E-Flight micro helicopters.
