NEC’s PaPeRo Gets Some Upgrades
November 30th, 2009

NEC’s PaPeRo Gets Some UpgradesNEC Japan recently came up with an updated version of PaPeRo, just in time for the International Robot Exhibition 2009. This version is PaPerRo R500 and he sports special face recognition software that can recognize up to 30 people and alter it’s behavior accordingly.

The bot will gladly do any number of chores, about 200 in all. When it recognizes people it knows, it can alter its behavior to suit the person. This version will also return to the charging station when it needs power. If you’re in Japan, this little guy will cost you $600 per month.
