Music Tank Robot Follows You With Music
November 10th, 2009
Inspired by the Caterpiller Inc’s endless track system, the Mint Robot #3: Music Tank is a music player that moves around. It’s like Sony’s Rolly, but is remote controlled and can follow the user around the house playing music.
It’s controlled by a Wi-Fi enabled handheld or a PC and at the moment it’s just a concept, so you can’t buy one. Using a map matching technique, it detects the location of the wireless router and maps the house interior with the Wi-Fi Positioning System and sends a 2D map of the same to the device used that controls it. When the user drags the Music Tank icon to the place he wants music in the house, the Tank recognizes the user with thermal temperature, and dodges all obstacles to get to the location after the user.
