Engineering Student Builds Humanoid Guitar Hero Playing RobotNo doubt you are getting tired of rocking fake plastic guitars. When we grow tired of doing the same old thing over and over, that’s usually when people start building robots to do stuff for them. This humanoid bot is more or less a mannequin stuffed with robotic parts that allows it to play Guitar Hero.

It was developed by engineering student Pete Nikrin and Minnesota West Technical College. “Roxanne” (Probably named after the Police song.) responds to each note as it appears onscreen. The robot can read the notes in transitions between light and dark pixels using its left eye which has a camera.

She gets 100 percent accuracy sometimes, averaging 98 percent accurate in medium mode, 95 percent on Hard mode and 80 percent on Expert mode. She also hates brown M & Ms and refuses to play if she finds one in her bowl.
