Looks like a company called Moon Publicity wants to write advertising on the moon using robots and what the company calls shadow shaping technology. We’re basically talking rovers with grooved wheels that will make drawings.

According to the company, the ads will be viewable from anywhere on Earth forever. Somehow I doubt this will go anywhere, if it’s not just a publicity stunt.

   Three words come to mind:
   Vulgar, tasteless and tacky.

   Having said that I don’t think it’s do-able as the amount of distance required to be covered would be enormous. The moons terrain wouldn’t allow for it and the enormous costs involved would be prohibitive.

   Good choice of controversial topic to drive traffic to a website though.
