iRobot Develops “Autonomous Vehicle Kit” That Transforms Any Vehicle Into A Robot

iRobot never stands still. They are ever vigilant in creating our robot future. The bastards! This one is pretty cool though. iRobot has developed an “Autonomous Vehicle Kit” that is capable of transforming any existing vehicle into a robotic vehicle at a much lower cost than developing a robotic vehicle from scratch, according to the company’s president of military robotics, Joe Dyer.
The technology isn’t exactly at the level of “Bumblebee,” the Transformer, but it presents a whole host of possibilities. Think about it. Say you’re driving a robotic truck into an enemy stronghold. Once enough bad guys gather round nearby, they’ll be sitting ducks for an ambush. Not to mention the fact that such a vehicle/robot can handle any terrain. It would simply transform into what it needs to be in order to handle it.
