The Hand Of Man Robot From Burning Man
June 3rd, 2009
Burning Man isn’t just about a bunch of hippies going out to the desert to ingest illegal substances. That’s only a part of it. The festival has always been about creativity as well. The Hand of Man Robot created by Christian Ristow is exactly the kind of thing that you will find there.
The giant hand emulates almost every movement of a human hand, using hydraulics to move. It can even be controlled using a small glove. The project took six months and was funded by Burning Man festival 2008. It measures 25 feet. Even a 5-year-old can bring set it into motion, which is a scary thought.
