First K9 Series Trailer

Here’s a preliminary trailer for the forthcoming K9 series. What have they done to my childhood friend K9? He looks like a toy. I know the series is geared toward kids, but still. Maybe he will grow on me, but right now he just looks silly. Are any of you looking forward to this?

Oh this is just dreadful. I agree he looks like the cheapest kind of toy, a puppet on a stick with really cheap bad looking green screen effects. And he flies!? Even the voice is so ridiculous. Oh no! Poor poor K9. I will always love the old K9.

It’s sad. I loved K9 as a kid. Kids today are getting ripped off with this dumbed-dumb version. I laughed when they showed him flying over London.

I feel this is one is just going a little to far, the Sarah Jane series was a mastermind spinning off of the Dr Who bus, but looking at this trailer,well just makes me feel a little sad. K9 was cool robot, not some CG over created puppy!

My understanding is that the intellectual property that is “K9″ is owned by someoue outside of the BBC productions. It costs too much to license the use of the “real” K9 in the storylines. That’s why he’s conveniently out of sight, monitoring a blackhole on the SJA series.
