HRP-4C Fashion Model Robot
March 16th, 2009
The HRP-4C is a walking, talking humanoid fashion model fembot developed by Japan’s National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST). It has possibly the creepiest humanoid movements I’ve ever seen.
I want to shoot it in the face and save mankind. Sadly, as these fembots get more lifelike, I won’t know whether to shoot it or sexually harass it.
She has 30 motors in her body, is 62-inches tall, and weighs 95-lb. The HRP-4C can walk around and strike a range of poses.(You ain’t a real model until you puke up your meals and get a coke habit. Just saying.) She also has 8 motors in her face, allowing her to wow the crowds with expressions like anger and surprise. HRP-4C is scheduled to make her official runway debut in a special fashion show in Tokyo next week, though she will not be wearing any clothes. Video below.

Not very lifelike. Its movement is jerky and it sounds like a washing machine when it does move. Over all it is a curousity. Unless there is a sudden advancement in powersourses and robotics inn general I don’t expect to see anything life shattering within the robotic world.
