The ‘Oboe’ Robot Keeps Memories Of Your Loved One Alive
February 22nd, 2009
We humans are not immortal, so it’s important that we live on somehow after our bodies turn to worm food. As usual, the Japanese can help in their usual creepy way.
‘Oboe’ is designed to hang out with the elderly, so that it can absorb knowledge, experiences and, well everything that reminds you of your loved ones before they pass on. This way as much of their “essence” as possible will live on. You can see how the future might play out with “Oboe”. We continue to live, in a sense, in robot form.
We become the robot evil that is our downfall. Robots who remember being human. It’s a viscious circle.

it means i left this world but still my sweet memories will remain in this robot, which can be passed on and on to my up-coming generations, that’s amazing!

If my family put me in a nursing home with one of those, I’d spend hours cussing it out. That way, I leave my good-for-nothing family with a very expensive grumpy old robotic fart.
