Robotic Crib: Neglect Your Baby Without Consequence
February 2nd, 2009

Suima CribThis is for all you soon-to-be parents who flipped a coin to decide between baby and abortion. Now you don’t have to be so down about your bundle of joy. The Suima Crib, from Kyuushuu University in Japan, senses your baby crying and gently rocks it back to sleep. What does this mean for parents? Time to get nasty drunk like 24/7 and completely forget about your stupid baby. A robot crib will watch it for you.
Of course there’s still the issue of the baby pooping and eating, but I have a sneaking suspicion that if you leave him alone in that crib for long enough, nature will balance things out.
You can rent these in Japan for about $100 per month, buying one will set you back between $4,500 and $5,500. Check out a video of the robot crib below, gently rocking a baby that will more than likely grow up to be a serial killer.
