Little Island Will Build A Robot That Looks Just Like You

Little Island Will Build A Robot That Looks Just Like YouHiroaki Koike runs a little company with a great new innovative idea. His company, ‘Little Island’, combines superb craftsmanship and attention to detail, doll making, personalization, and a knowledge of robotics and networking technology, in order to create a mini-you.

In only six weeks, they will ship you a robot version of yourself based on a picture that you send them. The robots are only 40cm tall and feature: a 500 mHz computer with Windows XP as the OS, 80 GB SSD, a webcam, speaker, touch sensors, the usual servos, and a power and ethernet cable.

It will even mimic your voice after you teach it. The computer takes care of all of the voice recognition and speech software, should you want the robot to read your RSS feeds or make VOIP calls for you as you creep everyone the frak out. Yeah, this is some creepy stuff.
