Robot Harms Children, Unsurprisingly
January 29th, 2009

Robot BandaiJapanese toy manufacturer Bandai has sold over 170,000 of these robot toys since September 2008. The toys, as you may have guessed, are completely evil. So far there haven’t been any deaths, just some hardcore finger-choppage. “Some Japanese media are reporting that a 3-year old boy lost the tip of his pinky.” Whoa.
There have been 14 cases reported of the robot toy hurting children. Fourteen kids, in Japan. That’s like a quarter of their child population (author’s estimate).
The toy is based on the Engine Sentai Go-onger TV series, a popular Japanese show that looks like Transformers. How much will a finger munching bot cost? Only $70! WANT.
