Today iRobot announced that Congress will be setting aside $2 million for their robotic endeavors. More specifically, the two mil will go to iRobot’s continued development of the Warrior 700. Ah yes, the Warrior, America’s favorite grenade-chucking killbot. Think of how much deadlier $2 million more will make it. Chills.
Joe Dyer, president of the government and industrial unit at iRobot, said, “This funding will allow iRobot to expand its product line, which continues to evolve as the need for unmanned ground vehicles grows worldwide.” With the economy being the clusterfrick it has been lately, the fact that iRobot Corp. is getting government money speaks to just how much we love robots that can kill people. It’s really in the enlightened interest of the country to invest in robots — they will eventually go berserk and solve our urban crowding problems by straight up murdering everyone. Kudos, Uncle Sam.
