Manta Shaped Aquatic Robot Helps Lifeguards
October 2nd, 2008

The Mantra is a concept by designer Adam Scott that aims to ease the burden of lifeguards and make rescues quick. The Mantra has a flexible body that allows it to swim more naturally among underwater currents, and even sports a detachable stretcher on top so that lifeguards can unload the wounded off of the Mantra once it hits the shore.

So what is the moral of this robot concept? One Manta Ray will wound you while another rescues you? Could be. Seems like this is something the coast guard might want to look into as well.
