Emotional Robot Has Empathy
July 18th, 2008 by Conner Flynn
A project in Europe could perfect the art of making robots that can “learn when a person is sad, happy or angry.” The Feelix Growing project is now using software that gives robots the ability to understand how a person is feeling. It’s done through feedback from cameras and sensors. The bots first look at a human’s face and facial expression and then they examine the voice and proximity to determine what kind of mood they’re in. The robot learns from experience as it interacts.
