This little guy has been around for a bit, and he hasn’t stopped rocking. He’ll basically wander around your house searching for “playable” surfaces, why it creates and combines samples on the fly into rhythms. How can you not love a little bot like this?
These G-Robots look very similar to the i-Sobot. They’re programed through your computer and also controlled via a remote controller. Lots of movements, commands, and styles. Kinda vague I know, and only available in Japan for $2,399.99.
Robot animals just keep improving and they aren’t going to stop anytime soon. Soon they’ll replace stuffed animals completely. This cuddly lion is from the WowWee “Alive” line of robot animals, and was displayed at CES 2008. It’s now available for pre-order with a released date of August 21.
They are getting very good at things like facial movement and movement in general. This thing could actually fool you for mybe a second or two. It’s got a bunch of features including lifelike hair, meow and growl… Pick up your lion cub by the scruff of the neck and watch it go limp in your hand, just like a real lion cub when its pick up by its mother. Like Indy, I hate snakes. Robot snakes are nearly as bad since they can move just as well as the real deal and kill you dead. Meet the ACM-R5, an amphibious robot snake that will get your guests out of the pool real quick. It was developed by the boffins at the Hirose Fukushima Lab in Japan. Video below.
ACM-R5 is equipped with paddles and passive wheels around the body. To generate propulsive force by undulation, the robot need a resistance property as it glides freely in tangential direction but cannot in normal direction. Due to the paddles and passive wheels, ACM-R5 obtains that character both in water and on ground.
I’d like to personally thank them for adding whole new level of creepiness to robots and I look forward to dying in it’s grasp one hot summer day when the pool beckons. Read the rest of this entry »
I don’t know if you noticed, but there are not a ton of Robot USB drive options available. That’s why I’ll be picking up one of these. This little guy is a 256MB drive and includes a clasp to attach to your keychain. He could have more memory, but who cares. He’ll cost you $28.50.
Crabfu bots are always interesting, and kind of charming since they haven’t developed the will to kill yet. How can you help but fall in love with this remote controlled Tortoise. Video is after to the break, which proves that it’s a fighter and never gives up where kitties are concerned. Read the rest of this entry »
For those who love retro posters, you can now buy Eric Tan’s 1950s throwback WALL-E prints. They include pictures of Wall-E and Eve with slogans like “The Future is NOW!”. They were previously handed out as promotional postcards at the San Diego Comic Con in 2007. These new poster-size versions are 13 inches by 19 inches and will cost you $165 unframed.
Sure that’s alot, but this robot ain’t gonna tear your throat out. Support some non-threatening robots for a change.
Tan drew his inspiration from old Disneyland attraction posters and decided to go for a 1950s advertisement vibe.
